The search for a 19-year-old woman who disappeared Wednesday evening while swimming at Foster Beach resumed at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, officials said.

The woman was last seen by a witness struggling to swim to shore before she became submerged in the water, police said. Around 8:30 p.m., dive teams from Chicago police and the Chicago Fire Department responded to a call of a missing person in the 5200 block of DuSable Lakeshore Drive at Foster Beach.The divers suspended the search in the evening and police said they would continue the search during daylight hours.
