A search is underway for a 9-year-old Mat-Su boy missing since he ran away from his Meadow Lakes home late Wednesday.

Corwin Vent was last seen around 10:30 p.m. when he left his home on North Gunflint Trail near Wasilla, Alaska State Troopers said in an . The boy was wearing an orange and black tie-dye NASA sweatshirt and dark Keen sandals, and carrying a camouflage backpack.Troopers as well as family members searched through the night, troopers spokesman Austin McDaniel said Thursday morning. Ongoing search efforts include dog teams, ground searchers and drones as well as a Department of Public Safety helicopter, McDaniel said.
Troopers are looking for surveillance video from residents in the area including North Gunflint Trail, West Skyview Drive and Meadow Lakes Drive from 10 p.m. Wednesday through Thursday.
