The Seattle Student Union announced in a news release Saturday that it is holding a rally against gun violence Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Seattle City Hall., the union says it and students across the nation have “had enough” and that it is “done with the notion that our lawmakers in Olympia did everything they could” to prevent gun violence.
The union is demanding that schools have at least one counselor per every 200 students to cater to students’ diverse backgrounds, and asks Gov. Jay Inslee to call a special session in Olympia to ban all semi-automatic weapons.to protest gun violence and school shootings in the wake of the Uvalde, Texas shooting that killed 19 elementary school students on May 24.
