South Korea's capital, Seoul , experienced the heaviest November snowfall in over a century on Wednesday, Nov 27, leading to severe disruptions including 200 cancelled or delayed flights and multiple road accidents. The snowfall, which measured 18cm by 3pm (2pm Singapore time), was caused by cold air moving from the northwest, turning rain into snow overnight. The Korea Meteorological Administration reported that this is the largest November snowfall since records began in 1907.
At least two people died in traffic accidents, and 70 ferries were suspended. Power outages affected thousands of households, and a heavy snow warning advised residents to stay indoors and avoid outdoor activities.
