Katia Passerini will take over as head of the Catholic university immediately, officials said.
Katia Passerini, the school’s provost and executive vice president, will take over as interim president immediately, according to an announcement Monday by Hank D’Alessandro, chairman of the Seton Hall Board of Regents.
Officials did not cite the investigation into the financial problems in the announcement last year about Seton Hall School of Law Dean Kathleen Boozang’s. The investigation was also not mentioned in Monday’s announcement about the resignation of the president. “Under her leadership, Academic Affairs has made substantial progress over the last three years in achieving the plan’s goals,” D’Alessandro wrote.
“In this role, she represents all of North America in what has been called the United Nations of Catholic higher education,” D’Alessandro wrote.
