Six units at an apartment complex on the Northwest Side were severely damaged during a fire on Wednesday, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.
SAFD public information officer Joe Arrington said the fire started just before 11 a.m. in the 5800 block of NW Loop 410, near Bandera Road.The fire seemed to have started between the first and second floors, and heavy smoke was seen coming from the second floor, Arrington said.The fire was contained to half of the building, which had 16 units. Twelve of those units were occupied.
Arrington said six units had severe fire and water damage, and almost all of the units had smoke issues.Residents in damaged units will be relocated to other units or the complex’s sister property.
