The arrests of individuals involved in the multi-billion-dollar money laundering case instil confidence in the capabilities of Singapore’s police force and underscore the need for more robust measures to prevent money laundering crimes, said MP Sharael Taha.
Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday , he said the amendments are crucial in enhancing the ability of Singapore’s law enforcement agencies to pursue and prosecute money laundering offences and to clarify and improve the processes for dealing with seized properties linked to suspected criminal activities. He stressed the need to ensure that the amendments to the Bill are implemented effectively.
