How a SAWS crew helped a couple deliver their baby
When a water main broke the same day as a home birth, things didn’t look so good. Then a team of SAWS employees got to work. played a vital role in delivering a baby.
Everything was going according to plan until Courtney discovered that their King William District home had no running water to fill the tub. “I open the curtains, and there are like half a dozen SAWS trucks in the middle of the street, presiding over a giant crater they have dug,” he said. “And it became obvious why we don’t have water.”
Initially, Sandoval didn’t understand the couple’s sense of urgency when Evan told him that Courtney’s water had broken — assuming that they’d be going to a hospital.
