For example, the Shiseido Americas Corporation announced on Wednesday, April 8, that it will be dedicating a part of one of its manufacturing facilities in New Jersey to produce hand-sanitizing gel for health organizations.

Our incredible team embraces the spirit of omotenashi, which translates from Japanese as 'heartfelt hospitality,'" writes Shiseido Americas CEO Marc Rey in a statement emailed to"In the midst of this global pandemic, we are proud to do our part in support of the courageous medical professionals and volunteers who are on the front lines fighting the spread of coronavirus daily.
The announcement made by Shiseido explains that each sanitizer will contain 70 percent alcohol and will be donated to local New York and New Jersey health facilities and community outreach organizations that are working to help fight COVID-19. Production will take place in a part of the brand's manufacturing facility in East Windsor, New Jersey, and the company says that the production of these medical-grade sanitizers will be complete sometime mid-April.
There's no word yet on how many units the company, which is a subsidiary of the global Shiseido Company, Limited, based in Tokyo, and and parent company to popular beauty brands, including Nars and Laura Mercier, plans to make. Shiseido Americas joins the likes of
