Shohei Ohtani belts 2 homers as Angels complete doubleheader sweep
DETROIT — Shohei Ohtani put a capper on a shutout like only he can.
The Angels swept the three-game series, improving to 9-2 in their last 11 games. They are three games behind the Toronto Blue Jays for the third American League wild-card spot heading into a three-game series in Toronto. The Angels handed him a quick five-run lead in the second inning. Luis Rengifo knocked in two with a triple. Zach Neto’s bloop single pushed home another. Ohtani then drilled a two-run homer to left field.
