Singaporeans will receive a range of benefits as the country celebrates its 60th anniversary, including SG60 vouchers, personal income tax rebates, and initiatives to promote culture, sports, and giving.
Singapore ans are in for a treat as the nation celebrates its 60th birthday with a special package of vouchers and incentives. Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong announced the SG60 package during his Budget 2025 speech on Tuesday, February 18th. This initiative aims to recognize the contributions of all Singapore ans and share the benefits of the nation's progress. Adult Singapore ans aged 21 and above will receive SG60 vouchers throughout July 2025.
Individuals aged 21 to 59 will receive $600 in vouchers, while those aged 60 and older will receive $800. Similar to the Community Development Council (CDC) vouchers, half of these SG60 vouchers will be designated for use at participating supermarkets and the other half for participating heartland merchants and hawkers.These vouchers will be accepted at all businesses that currently accept CDC vouchers and will remain valid until December 2026. In addition to the vouchers, Singaporeans will also benefit from a personal income tax rebate of 60 percent for the year of assessment 2025. To further promote the nation's cultural scene, the government will introduce the SG Culture Pass. This initiative aims to encourage attendance at local arts and heritage activities. Singaporeans aged 18 and above in 2025 will receive $100 worth of culture credits starting in September 2025. These credits will remain valid until the end of 2028. The Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth will release more details on how to claim these credits at a later date.To foster sports participation, existing ActiveSG members will receive an additional $100 worth of credits in June 2025, while new joiners will get a total of $200 in credits. Furthermore, all Singaporean babies born in 2025 will be eligible for the SG60 Baby Gift. More details about this gift will be shared by early March. PM Wong also announced a one-time rental support of $600 for each hawker stall managed by government or government-appointed operators in 2025. Emphasizing the importance of helping fellow citizens and promoting a spirit of giving, the government will increase its fund-matching efforts for charities and social causes. A $100 million top-up will be provided to the Cultural Matching Fund, extending its reach until the end of the Financial Year 2029. Another $270 million will be allocated to the Enhanced Fund-Raising Programme, which matches donations to Singapore-registered charities dollar-for-dollar, and it will be extended until the end of the financial years 2027. Additionally, the government will introduce the $250 million SG Gives dollar-for-dollar matching grant for all donations, donating $1.50 per dollar for large and sustained donations
