Simonboy, a Singaporean content creator, remembers his late daughter Megan on the fifth anniversary of her death. He expresses his grief and pleads for forgiveness in emotional Instagram posts.
Content creator Simonboy, whose real name is Simon Khung, shared a series of poignant Instagram Stories on Friday, February 28th, remembering his late daughter Megan and expressing a heartfelt plea for forgiveness. His posts came on the fifth anniversary of Megan's death, a tragedy that shook Singapore in 2020. Megan, just four years old, died after being fatally punched in the stomach by Wong Shi Xiang, Foo's boyfriend at the time, at a Paya Lebar condo on February 21, 2020.
Wong pleaded guilty to charges of culpable homicide and other offenses related to the case, including the intentional disposal of Megan's body to obstruct investigations. Foo, Megan's mother, also faced charges of child abuse, allowing the death of a child, and the intentional disposal of a corpse to impede investigations. Simonboy's Instagram Stories, accompanied by a black-and-white photo of himself with Megan, conveyed his profound grief and longing. He wrote, 'Have fun with Jesus. Till then, my precious baby,' expressing his belief that Megan was at peace. In a subsequent story, he prayed to God, 'Take this bitterness away from my heart and help me forgive like how You have forgiven me.' The couple had reportedly been experiencing marital difficulties, with arguments over Megan being a contributing factor to their eventual divorce after over a year of marriage. According to reports, Simonboy had made a police report in July 2020 expressing concern for Megan's safety and whereabouts, claiming he last saw her in February 2017 before serving a three-year sentence at a drug rehabilitation center. Investigations revealed that Megan had suffered years of abuse at the hands of both Foo and Wong, including starvation, physical beatings, and being forced to sleep on the balcony in a planter. Foo had even recorded much of this abuse. Months after Megan's death, Wong and Foo devised a plan to dispose of her body, ultimately incinerating her in a purpose-built barrel in May 2020. Commemorating the fifth anniversary of Megan's death on February 22nd, Simonboy wrote on Instagram, 'Despite everything, I still want to praise God for our baby boy who will be delivered in April this year.' He added, 'Megan, I miss you, and Papa will continue to be good and make you proud. Love you forever.
