Singapore Customs and the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) caught 41 individuals during a five-day joint operation at the Singapore Cruise Centre. The operation, from September 4 to 8, focused on smuggling duty-unpaid cigarettes and goods subject to GST.
SINGAPORE – A man carrying gemstone rings and a woman found with gold jewellery were among the 41 cases caught during a five-day joint operation by Singapore Customs and the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority .
The total composition sum imposed was $12,105 and the total duty and GST recovered was $743.35, said the authority in a Facebook post. A second case involved a woman found with gold jewellery that was intended for sale in Singapore. She was a recalcitrant offender.
