An 18-year-old Singaporean student, identifying as an 'East Asian supremacist,' has been detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA). This marks the third instance of an individual being dealt with under the ISA for being radicalized by violent far-right extremist ideologies. The student joins a 56-year-old Singaporean and a 34-year-old Malaysian, both self-radicalized, who have also faced action under the ISA. Dr. Shashi Jayakumar, Executive Director of SJK Geostrategic Advisory, discusses the implications of this trend for Singapore.
