The Singapore liquefied natural gas import terminal in Jurong Island is used for importing LNG, reloading and re-gasification and storage. SINGAPORE: Singapore LNG, operator of the country's liquefied natural gas terminal, is designing a new facility to extract chemicals from the super-chilled fuel, in a project that could help boost the island's energy security.

If the project went ahead, it would give Singapore more flexibility in the type of LNG it can import, which would in turn improve the country's energy security, the companies said.
