He underscored the rare unity and harmony found in Singapore, where individuals of diverse faiths and beliefs coexist peacefully. PM Wong drew attention to the rapid changes occurring worldwide, from the United States to China and Europe, underscoring the need for Singaporeans to work together to safeguard their nation. He emphasized that Singapore's strength lies in its people and their ability to come together as one. Senior Minister of State for Defence and Manpower Zaqy Mohamad echoed this sentiment, reminding the audience that Singapore's harmony is not a given but a result of the efforts of past generations. Mr. Zaqy stressed the crucial role of interfaith dialogue, particularly for the younger generation, in combating misinformation and divisive ideologies that threaten social cohesion. The event, organized by the Marsiling Citizens' Consultative Committee, Indian Muslim Social Service Association, and Masjid An-Nur, saw the participation of other MPs representing Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC, Alex Yam and Hany Soh. Mr. Zaqy highlighted the significance of the occasion, where people from different faiths and races gather to break fast together in peace, a privilege earned through the understanding and respect fostered by previous generations.
