Singapore's Workers' Party Announces New Leadership Team

The Workers' Party Central Executive Committee in Singapore has announced its key appointments for the new term, including former WP Chief Low Thia Khiang and MPs Gerald Giam, Dennis Tan, He Ting Ru, Louis Chua, Jamus Lim, Kenneth Tiong, Abdul Muhaimin, Non-constituency MP Eileen Chong, former Aljunied MP Faisal Manap, GE2025 candidate Senior Counsel Harpreet Singh, and Tan Kong Soon.

The Workers' Party Central Executive Committee in Singapore has announced its key appointments for the new term. The appointments include former WP Chief Low Thia Khiang, MPs Gerald Giam, Dennis Tan, He Ting Ru, Louis Chua, Jamus Lim, Kenneth Tiong, Abdul Muhaimin, Non-constituency MP Eileen Chong, former Aljunied MP Faisal Manap, GE2025 candidate Senior Counsel Harpreet Singh, and Tan Kong Soon.

New additions include Aljunied MP Fadli Fawzi and Non-constituency MP Andre Low. Abdul Muhaimin was appointed as Deputy Treasurer, while Tan Kong Soon and Fadli Fawzi were appointed as Deputy Organising Secretaries. Jamus Lim was appointed as Head, Policy Research, and Low Thia Khiang as Committee Member. The party expressed confidence in its new team, saying they will serve constituents with dedication and advance the interests of Singapore and its people.

The appointments come as Singapore companies are found to be able to withstand supply chain disruptions longer than their US and UK counterparts. A survey found that 23% of Singapore businesses can operate for four to six months in the event of a major supply chain shock, compared to 18% in the US and 12% in the UK. The rise of data centers in Malaysia has also led to increased salaries for workers, with median salaries exceeding RM2,793.
