AT A GLANCE: Singapore to have 5 long public holiday weekends in 2024.
SINGAPORE — Singaporeans will get to enjoy five long weekends next year, according to a Ministry of Manpower press release announcing the country's public holiday dates in 2024.As the second day of the Chinese New Year falls on Sunday, Feb 11, the following Monday will be a public holiday.The remaining two public holidays fall on a Friday.
They are:Labour Day According to MOM, employees who are required to work on a public holiday are entitled to an extra day’s salary at the basic rate of pay, in addition to their gross rate of pay for that day.Employers also have the option of granting time-off-in-lieu, based on a mutually agreed number of hours, for working on a public holiday for the following group of employees:All managers and executives.
