SINGAPORE — When Ms Chng Yi Jun, 35, a Singapore Turf Club (STC) senior manager for corporate marketing got an email on Monday (June 5) morning about a last-minute townhall meeting for all employees that afternoon without any details, she didn't think much of it.
She, like most other employees, was therefore shocked to hear STC president and chief executive officer Irene Lim announce
These include Mr Teo Yam Choon, 62, an assistant manager of property facilities who has worked for STC for 33 years and is one the club's longest serving employees. "I have mixed feelings. We grew and started this place to make it one of the best race tracks in the world." “There were no emotional outbursts nor any raised voices, everyone listened very attentively,” said Mr Chng.
Mr R Jayaraju, who has been working at STC for 22 years and is a certified horticulturist and arborist, said he will soon have to find new work in a related field.
