With temperatures below freezing, wind driven waves crash against the shore of White Rock Lake, causing icicles to form on branches in Dallas, January 2, 2022. Temperatures got down into the teens early Sunday morning after a high in the 70’s Saturday. Another hard freeze is expected this evening.Roads remain quite slick and hazardous this morning, mostly due to thin, “black ice” that has redeveloped on area roadways.

Sunshine will return today and temperatures will recover into the 40s this afternoon. The warming trend will continue through the weekend with highs in the 50s and 60s.-NBC5 Meteorologist Grant Johnston
