It's only when we look at the fly balls Posey sprayed to the rest of the field that things start falling into place. When he didn’t pull the ball, Posey hit seven homers in 2015, six the next year, four in 2017, and last year? Zilch. Nada. Nothing. His average flyball distance on those hits dropped in the same period from 324 and 326 ft. in 2015 and 2016 to 310 and 308 the following two seasons. On the hits where he needs the most power to clear the fence, Posey has started coming up short.
