Another day, another mini garden in an HDB block.

A Stomper was miffed by the sheer number of potted plants placed by her neighbour on the sixth floor of Block 66 Marine Drive. She said this has been going on for"more than two years."

Photos she shared show numerous potted plants and clothing racks cluttering common spaces such as the lift lobby and staircase landing."The excessive number of potted plants in the common corridor create a potential breeding ground for mosquitoes and pose a fire hazard. On top of that, clothes are being hung haphazardly in the hallway, making the space look messy and unkempt.

A spokesman added:"As part of our ongoing efforts to maintain a safe and clutter-free environment, the town council is currently carrying out a decluttering exercise in this block to educate residents on the risks associated with corridor clutter and obstructions in common areas. "We have also engaged some of these residents to encourage the removal or reduction of these items, and some had made efforts in doing so."

The town council will revisit these units to monitor the situation and continue to provide assistance in reducing the clutter in the common areas, the spokesman told Stomp.
