People living or visiting Bellevue Saturday may notice some extra activity at several light rail stations and facilities.
announced it will be conducting an emergency training exercise throughout the day in coordination with the Bellevue Fire and Police Departments.Link 2 light rail "starter line"The training, located at multiple facilities including the East Main and Bellevue Downtown stations will stimulate an emergency scenario in the downtown tunnel. This means that people passing may see theatrical smoke and emergency vehicles and volunteers acting and dressed as victims, according to city officials.

During this time, Sound Transit asks for people not to linger in the area since they may disrupt the drill. According to Sound Transit, this drill is just one of the many steps being taken to prepare for the opening of the starter line, which will run between South Bellevue and Redmond. Regular practice helps participating agencies and partners respond effectively in a real emergency, Sound Transit added.
Sound Transit advised travelers to be patient during the drill, observe posted signs, and to obey police officers directing traffic as multiple lanes will be closed.
