They’re still flirtin’ with disaster after four-plus decades. Southern rockers Molly Hatchet will perform at 8 p.m. on April 1 at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles.

“It’s a wonderful theater,” said Molly Hatchet guitarist Bobby Ingram. “It’s almost like a second home up there because everyone is so nice to the band. It just warms our hearts.”“Molly Hatchet will do a walk through the history of the band, from the debut album in 1978 all the way through the last live album, which was the ‘Battleground’ double CD, triple-vinyl album that came out a few years back,” he said.

The current lineup is the continuation from the original six members, he said. All the members who played on the band’s first album have died. The current lineup includes keyboardist John Galvin, drummer Shawn Beamer, bassist Tim Lindsey and vocalist Jimmy Elkins. “I did it for myself. I did it so I would have the knowledge and learn how to protect trademarks because I’m the trademark owner for the band. I did that to learn so I wouldn’t have to call my attorney all the time,” he said.
