B'Elanna is more Klingon than Worf.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Star Trek: Voyager's B'Elanna Torres acted more Klingon than Worf ever did on Star Trek: The Next Generation, despite her mixed Klingon-Human heritage. Klingons are one of Star Trek's most recognizable alien species, and have a long and complicated history in the franchise.
B'Elanna was Voyager's half-Klingon Chief Engineer and was only the second Klingon character to be included in the main cast of a Star Trek show. Although she was a wonderful Engineer and valued member of the USS Voyager's crew, one of B'Elanna's defining character traits was her temper, something that she often attributed to her Klingon heritage.
Voyager's B’Elanna Acts More Klingon Than TNG's Worf Ever Did Given her personality and the focus on her Klingon heritage, B'Elanna acted much more Klingon on Voyager than Worf ever did on TNG. Even from Voyager's earliest episodes, B'Elanna not only displayed how aggressive her temper could be but also attributed it to her being Klingon.
Why B’Elanna’s Temper Is Worse Than Worf’s While it may seem strange that B'Elanna acts more Klingon than Worf, a look at the childhoods of both characters offers a possible explanation as to why they're so different. B'Elanna had a human father and a Klingon mother, but her father left when she was young, causing her mother to raise B'Elanna by herself.
Given that B'Elanna had very little human influence as a child while Worf had very little Klingon influence, it's less surprising that their personalities developed counterintuitively to their respective heritages. Regardless of the differences in their characterization, both B'Elanna and Worf are some of Star Trek's greatest Klingon characters.
