The Labour leader dismisses claims of Covid rule-breaking as minister encourages police to investigate.

Earlier this year, Durham police cleared Sir Keir of breaking lockdown laws when he attended an event on 30 April 2021 at the office of a Durham MP.

Last month, Conservative MP Richard Holden wrote to the police asking them to review their decision, after the Met Police fined Prime Minister Boris Johnson for breaking lockdown laws by attending a party in No 10 in June 2020.

The fines were part of the Met Police's investigation into 12 gatherings across government buildings during the coronavirus lockdowns.
