A staggering 44% of adults reported insufficient sleep in Staten Island, according to a new report.
Sleepy Staten Island leads the state in its inability to get proper shuteye.The forgotten borough ranks first in New York State for drowsiness and is No. 14 in theUpstate’s Fulton County is second in the state with 43% of adults not catching enough ZZZs.
The other four boroughs aren’t sleeping in, either. In the Bronx, 42% of adults aren’t getting enough sleep; Brooklyn was at 41%; Queens at 40%, and Manhattan at 38%.from the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. It is based on the percentage of adults who reported an average of fewer than 7 hours of sleep a night.
The study found that Cumberland County topped New Jersey as the most sleep-deprived in that state, with 43% percent. Cumberland joined Staten Island representing the tri-state area at the top of the tired rankings, coming in at No. 15 nationwide. New Haven and New London counties tied for the lead in in Connecticut at 38%, landing that state 40th on the nationwide list.
