'Like it or loathe it, the Government's war analogy has traction' | writes BenedictSpence
Though we may loathe it, modern governments are judged as much by their messaging as by their actions. This government rode its way to No 10 on the back of messaging, and the victories it had brought it previously. “Leave means Leave” and “Get Brexit Done” will go down in history for their ability to cut through and resonate. The record will show “Stay Home, Protect the NHS, Save Lives” had much the same reach. Now, it remains to be seen if the follow-up will match it.
