Sunnyvale woman dies in wake of vehicle crash in Mountain View
A Sunnyvale woman died following a vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 101 in Mountain View, near the Ellis overcrossing, on Saturday morning.
Authorities were notified at 6:45 a.m. about the crash, which involved a white Nissan Rogue sports utility vehicle and its 65-year-old driver. “For unknown reasons she lost control” of the vehicle and ended up hitting the barrier, then the center divide, before finally crashing into a tree on the shoulder, according to CHP Officer Art Montiel.
The driver was treated by medics and was en route to the hospital when she reportedly died from her injuries. Following the crash, the two right lanes of northbound U.S. 101 were closed down until approximately 10:20 a.m.
