The choreography was sharp enough, but if viewers began to tune out somewhere around the bumping remix of “Pour It Up” — really, she left out “Disturbia” and “S&M” for that? — you were far from alone.

APAgain, the sharp staging kept the 12-minute medley eye-popping, and those lifting plexiglass platforms could’ve made for a cool “Super Mario” level.
But as Rihanna, draped in an oversized magenta coat, finished the snooze-worthy set, singing to “Diamonds” as LED wristbands lit the stadium crowd like a sea of jewels, the obvious response was “that’s it?” No special guests? No Jay-Z for “Umbrella”? No Drake for “Work”? And of all the songs, she had to pull out her hook from “All of the Lights,” and make 100 million people think about … Kanye West?
Kudos to the slinking and popping mass of white-clad dancers, who tried to keep the show moving like a pack of hip-hop-trained Oompa Loompas.
