Michael Lockett, 30, of Englewood, faces simple assault and other charges after a standoff with police in Teaneck on Friday.
A 30-year-old Bergen County man faces several charges after police responding to a call for help at a home said he barricaded himself in the basement, requiring a response from the county’s SWAT team.
“Officers encountered Michael Lockett, who was uncooperative and had barricaded himself in a basement room of the residence,” Deputy Police Chief Andrew R. McGurr said in a statement. Officers eventually brought Lockett out of the house and arrested him. McGurr did not say how long the standoff lasted.
