The Maple Sugaring event at the Great Swamp Outdoor Education Center runs weekends through mid-March.
At the demonstration, participants are shown how to identify and tap maple trees, collect sap, and make real maple syrup over a wood-fired evaporator. The outdoor event also includes a syrup taste test.
The event runs weekends through March 12; demonstrations begin at 1 p.m. The educational center is located at 247 Southern Blvd. in Chatham Township. For more information on the program, which is suitable for guests ages 6 and older, call 973-635-6629.
