‘That was too much, I was 18! We laugh about it now but that was mouthy, just some teenage stuff there…’
During an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show – her first TV interview in two years – the 29-year-old was asked what the most rebellious thing she did as a teenager was, she went straight in there with her ex.
‘Probably when I put Joe Jonas on blast on your show, that was too much…,’ the Me! singer told the host. So, while most teen rebellions include sipping on a blue alcopop in the park, T-Swizz had hers live on TV, in front of millions of viewers.The moment in question came back in 2009, when Taylor popped up on Ellen to promote her album, Fearless.When the host asked her how her relationship with Joe was going, and whether there were any songs about the Jonas Brothers star – who recently married Sophie Turner – on the record.
‘There’s one that’s about that guy, but that guy isn’t in my life anymore unfortunately,’ she replied. ‘That’s ouch.’‘We haven’t talked since, actually… But someday I’m going to find somebody really, really great, who is right for me,’ she continued. ‘When I find that person that is right for me, he’ll be wonderful, and when I look at that person, I’m not even going to be able to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 25 seconds when I was 18.’Cue a wildly cheering audience who couldn’t quite believe their ears.‘Yeah, it was a record, I think, for how quick,’ she said. ‘I looked at the call log and it said 27 seconds. That’s got to be a record.
