CAUAYAN CITY: The cadavers of the pilot and five passengers of the Cessna 206 plane that crashed in Isabela last January were retrieved Sunday from the wreckage site in the Sierra Madre mountains, the Incident Management Team commander Constante Foronda said.
Foronda, also an officer of the Isabela provincial disaster risk reduction management council, said the retrieval teams will turn over the bodies to a second team waiting at the Divilacan town proper.
The bodies of the plane pilot, Captain Eleazar Mark Joven, and his passengers, Val Kamatoy, 34; Kamatoy's nephews Rom Josthle Manaday, 15, and siblings Mark Eiron Siguerra, 20 and Xam Siguerra, 10; and Josefa Perla Espana will be taken to a funeral for embalming. Their relatives have been waiting at the Cauayan airport to claim the remains.The retrieval teams started their trek to the crash site on Thursday but heavy rain and the rough terrain slowed them down.
