A 16-year old boy who was taken to the Canadian border – reportedly by his mother and uncle as part of a doomsday prophecy –was found Friday night.
Spring Thibaudeau, left, and Brooke Hale, right, were arrested Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, after allegedly taking Spring Thibaudeau's juvenile son with them to the Canadian Border. The family was believed to be leaving the U.S. based on extreme religious views regarding doomsday prophecies.
The family was known to have extreme religious beliefs, which raised concerns among family members when Hale reportedly liquidated his accounts and disappeared, East Idaho News reported. Hale left a letter that indicated he would not be returning. That changed two days later, though, when Arizona authorities obtained a felony warrant for Spring Thibaudeau on suspicion of felony custodial interference.
"Blaze was in the company of his mother, Spring Thibaudeau, his uncle Brook Hale, and sister Abigail Thibaudeau. Spring Thibaudeau and Brook Hale were arrested on valid full extradition warrants and turned over to Alaska State Troopers."A reporter from East Idaho News spoke with KUTV's Arielle Harrison on Friday and noted there were many similarities between the Thibaudeau case and, which he has been covering extensively.
