Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting in Logan that killed a teen, and injured a 7-year-old child, along with two other teens.
Philadelphia police say a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed, while two other teens and a 7-year-old were injured in Logan.
Officials said the shooting happened on the 5900 block of North 21st Street, Thursday evening, just before 6 p.m. The 17-year-old boy, later identified as Nazeem Rains, was shot once in the head. Police rushed him to Einstein Medical Center, where he died.A 16-year-old and a 15-year-old each had gunshot wounds, the 16-year-old shot in the shoulder, while the 15-year-old was shot in the head and back. The 16-year-old is listed as stable and the 15-year-old is in critical condition.
A woman, who didn't want to be identified, says she was cleaning her front porch when bullets started flying just feet from her front steps. She says she ran inside her home to take cover with her one-year-old son and is now traumatized by what she witnessed. "It's really upsetting, especially because after it happened, I looked through the window and I saw the guy laying there and he was dying. I called 911 and then I heard he passed away. It was really sad and upsetting.
