So, I wouldn't be surprised if Hamilton took players from other parts of the roster and deployed them in unconventional packages. Hamilton's base system must establish an efficient run game. He'll likely attempt to create ground yards again by using dual-threat quarterback Jeff Driskel in a rotation with starter Davis Mills. But I think when you look at the options remaining on the team's active roster, Hamilton could shift toward swapping short run plays for short pass plays.
The Texans score the NFL's second-fewest points per drive and average the league's fewest yards per drive . They've had a positive turnover margin in six games this season and lost all but one of them. Still, the Texans have only had a plus-two turnover margin in one game. That was their win against the Jaguars. So, if it took two extra possessions to narrowly beat a 5-8 Jaguars team, it will at the very least require that many to knock off the 10-3 Chiefs.: I think at least three.
The Texans run a lot of zone, but you may see that magnified. Derek Stingley Jr. was the No. 3 pick for a reason. He can shut down an opposing top receiver and Steven Nelson has been solid all year too in coverage. Both are also good tacklers.
