Texas is looking for a new receivers coach after Brennan Marion left to become UNLV's offensive coordinator.AUSTIN — Texas is in the market for a new wide receivers coach after UNLV officially hired Brennan Marion as its offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Tuesday afternoon.
Texas coach Steve Sarkisian hired the rising Marion as the Longhorns' passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach Dec. 31, 2021, to replace Andre Coleman. Sarkisian opted not to retain Coleman, a holdover from former coach Tom Herman’s staff. “He’s somebody I feel we can all relate to,” Whittington said of Marion. “We have fun. He’s like a really close friend, but also when it’s time to coach we respect him as a coach. And he has so much new-age stuff that he does to where it’s like we’re always learning something new.”Texas signed DeSoto’s Johntay Cook II, Eisenhower’s Ryan Niblett and St. John Bosco’s DeAndre Moore Jr. last month, all of whom are ranked among the nation’s top 17 receivers by 247Sports.
