Should the Red Raiders beat Ole Miss on Wednesday night in the Texas Bowl, it would be the team’s first eight-win season since 2013, and mark consecutive winning seasons for the first time since the 2012-13 campaigns.
“Different isn’t good or bad, it’s just different,” McGuire said. “A lot of people have a hard time with change. These guys, it’s 'Hey coach, this is what we’re doing' and here we go.” “When we’re not inside the white lines, we’re going to have a lot of fun,” McGuire said. “We’re going to still be focused but we’ll enjoy each other. But when we practice and we’re in the meeting rooms, we have a purpose here and that’s to win the game. When we go, we go.”
“It’s huge for us because we have a large alumni base here,” McGuire said. “It’s going to be a good crowd for us. It’s been good for us to come here and practice. This was a huge bowl for us to play in.”Texas Tech has started three quarterbacks in 2022 and is only the second FBS program since 1996 to have three different players throw for at least 1,000 yards in a season.
