IPOH: Several roads in the city will be closed in stages in conjunction with the Thaipusam celebration.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan said the roads involved would be closed in stages between Sunday and Thursday to allow the chariot procession to journey between the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Buntong and Sri Subramaniar Temple at Gunung Cheroh, where the celebration would be held on Tuesday .

The roads involved were Jalan Sungai Pari, Jalan Tun Perak, Jalan Lahat, Jalan Sultan Yusoff, Jalan Sultan Iskandar, Jalan Sultan Idris Shah, Jalan Laxamana, Jalan Onn Jaafar, Jalan Raja Musa Aziz and Jalan Datuk Ahmad Said."On Monday , all roads into Jalan Raja Musa Aziz where the Sri Subramaniar Temple is located will be closed off or detoured from 8am until 9pm on Wednesday ," he said in a statement on Saturday .
