For the first half of the 20th century, John Hagy — no, not televangelist John was one of the most sought-after builders for deep-pocketed San Antonio residents who wanted custom homes in Monte Vista and Alamo Heights.
Little surprise then that when it came time to build his own home, Hagy created something fancy AF: a stunning Italian Renaissance-style mansion surrounded by oak trees. And located in 78209. The 1924 home went on the market last week for just under $3.4 million. While much of Hagy's own craftsmanship and design remain, it's also got glamorous new touches thanks to a lengthy restoration overseen by architect Ken Graves and designer Courtney Walker, according to its sales listing.
From the tilework on the front porch steps to the intricate moldings and architectural details inside, it's apparent love and care went into both building and refurbishing this breathtaking four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath dwelling.
