The project was uncertain for several years prior to this, as The Accountant sequel entered early development as far back as 2017. Warner Bros. is reportedly once more the studio behind the project, though this was never really in doubt — especially since the first movie grossed $155.2 million worldwide against a budget of $44 million for the studio .
Bernthal’s Braxton works for the ruthless Lamar Blackburn, the antagonist of the movie played by John Lithgow .
