The best things to do in Phoenix this weekend include a balloon festival in Scottsdale, ghost tours at the Orpheum Theater and a cosplay fest in Mesa.

With more than 20 hot air balloons tethered over Salt River Fields in Scottsdale, this is just like trick or treating in a neighborhood, except instead of houses, you'll stop at balloons for your candy. And don't worry about them running out, there will be more than 4,000 pounds of candy at the event.
There will also be a costume contest, so come dressed up. Different age groups compete in different costume categories and there’s even a group costume award.Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28-29. Doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets start at $22. Salt River Fields, 7555 N. Pima Road, Scottsdale.
