The Boys producer and VFX supervisor mocks Secret Invasion's AI-generated credits as Marvel Studios comes under fire for using the technology.
Stephan Fleet, producer and VFX supervisor for The Boys, has mocked Marvel’s controversial use of AI technology to produce the opening title sequence for the Secret Invasion series. Loosely based on the Marvel comic book arc of the same name, Secret Invasion recently made its streaming debut on Disney+.
Posting what appears to be a weird and unsettling AI-generated image of Antony Starr’s Homelander, The Boys producer jokes that he was “ahead of the curve in designing photo-realistic VFX using AI.” The surrealistic and misshapen image of The Boys’ number one Supe is a clear swipe at some of the more disquieting images featured in Marvel’s latest opening sequence.
