America's Cool Weed Grandma is ready to cash in on her new image. But the products she'll help develop won't get anybody high.

Ever since Martha Stewart teamed up with Snoop Dogg and became America’s Cool Weed Grandma, people have wondered: When will the cooking show host take the next logical step and create a line of gourmet cannabis edibles?

When The Washington Post posed the question to her in 2017, just before the second season of “Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party,” she demurred: “I’d rather do a line of my own hydrangeas or my own tulip bulbs,” she said.A year and a half later, she’s taking the plunge — kind of. Stewart is joining the Canadian marijuana company Canopy Growth as an adviser to help them develop cannabis products for people and their pets, according to a news release.

Stewart’s co-star, Snoop Dogg, has a preexisting partnership with Canopy Growth, according to CNN. Snoop has an investing firm called Casa Verde Capital that focuses on cannabis start-ups. Last year he published a cookbook, “From Crook to Cook,” which contains recipes for dishes prepared on the show, such as fried chicken, as well as dessert recipes such as “Bow Wow Brownies,” which encourage cooks to add “a sprinkle of Snoop’s herbs and spices . . .

If it seems like a strange turn for the queen of tasteful holiday decorating and elegant Connecticut farmhouse dinner parties to start working with weed, well, you haven’t been paying attention. Martha has been making this transition for years, capitalizing on her “harder” post-prison image, turning it into dank memes and comedy gold.

Martha claims she doesn’t consume cannabis, though that doesn’t mean she has never felt its effects: She says she has gotten a contact high from being around Snoop.Forget the handmade wreaths: Now Martha Stewart makes weed jokes with Snoop DoggIs an ice cream that promises a better night’s sleep too good to be true? Maybe.
