“Empezamos a escribir hace cuatro o cinco años. Entonces, se creía que la IA era algo relacionado con los coches voladores y con vivir en la Luna. Es muy extraño porque, sin embargo, en el último año incluso hemos grabado escenas con gente manifestándose contra la propia IA”, explicó Edwards. La historia también refleja las tensiones entre Occidente -liderado por Estados Unidos- con Asia o el este global, en un claro guiño a la disputa geopolítica que mantiene el país norteamericano con China, aunque sin hacer referencia a esta última.
De ahí el gran contraste en la fotografía de “The Creator”, que combina en su argumento los últimos avances digitales y electrónicos -producto de una IA de una generación ulterior- con tonos de imagen propias de principios de la década de los 90, cuando el director empezó a imaginar la trama.
