I NEED IT NOW 😭💞
The film, which just released its first trailer, stars Leah Lewis as Ellie Chu, a brilliant but introverted, guitar-playing high school student living in the small town of Squahamish with her father. Though she is often teased by her classmates, she has an entrepreneurial venture writing school papers for them.
Paul Munsky is a lovestruck jock who approaches Ellie for her help in using her writing skills to woo his crush, Aster Flores . What unfolds is not only an unlikely friendship between the pair, but also a love triangle when Ellie also begins to fall in love with Aster. Of course, things get complicated.
According to the official summary: "Shy, straight-A student Ellie is hired by sweet but inarticulate jock Paul, who needs help winning over a popular girl. But their new and unlikely friendship gets complicated when Ellie discovers she has feelings for the same girl." By the looks of the trailer alone, the film seems to explore love, friendship, and layers of self-discovery for all characters involved and promises a love story that isn’t your typical boy-meets-girl affair. Your new favorite Netflix dramedy comes to the streaming service on May 1, but until then, check out the full trailer for
