The Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 currently holds the world record in the quarter-mile for a full-bodied electric vehicle with a time of 8.128 seconds at 171.97 mph, a record many companies would be proud to have. Ford, however, is apparently not satisfied with its previous efforts, as the automaker pulled the cover off of the new Mustang Super Cobra Jet 1800 on Thursday morning.Ford Performance
and MLe Racecars. The lighter packs help shed hundreds of pounds out of the racer, which is huge when chasing tenths of a second. The scales aren’t the only place that Ford found room for improvement, as the rear end has been revised by MLE Racecars along with new geometry from PMR. A new gearbox has also been provided by Liberty, which works in tandem with the same group of DS-250-115 motor pairings as before.
