The Peripheral season 2 gets a reassuring update from Vernon Sanders, Amazon Studios' Head of Television. The Peripheral adapts William Gibson's 2014 homonymous novel. The sci-fi series hails from creator/showrunner Scott B. Smith and is executive produced by Westworld creators Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan. The Peripheral stars Chloë Grace Moretz as Flynne Fisher and Jack Reynor as Burton Fisher.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY In an interview with Collider, Amazon Studios' Head of Television, Vernon Sanders, gave a positive update on The Peripheral season 2. According to Sanders, things are looking good for the show's renewal, with the Amazon team currently "hard at work on scripts for Season 2 and a plan for Season 2". Sanders also made an interesting connection between The Peripheral's success to The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power fans.

We are in talks about Season 2 as we speak. We were thrilled to see real engagement and a lot of crossover from ‘The Lord of the Rings’ fans. So, it's kind of what we were hoping, that we were getting a bunch of people into the service for that show, and that they would go on to watch our next show. They're so different in tone, and obviously one's fantasy and one's sci-fi. We're incredibly proud of the producers of ‘The Peripheral.

The main problem of this course of action, and what confused viewers, is how Flynne accomplishes such a feat. Flynne seemingly dies in the finale. In The Peripheral season 1 finale, Flynne infiltrates the secret Research Institute facility stubs are controlled from. She then creates a new stub that diverges from her timeline and destroys the Research Institute's pocket watch she used to make it, making sure Cherise can't access it.

What Could Happen In The Peripheral Season 2 After Flynne's death in The Peripheral season 1 finale, Cherise is left with no reason to destroy the stub and stops her plan of putting the Jackpot in motion early. Cherise intended to use such a drastic measure because she discovered that the data Aelita stole from the Research Institute was stored within Flynne's DNA.
