, and even clocking in at less than two minutes the clip is packed with a definiteBased on actual events, the film stars Adam Driver as Daniel J. Jones, a staffer of Senator Dianne Feinstein tasked with leading the investigation of the CIA’s post-9/11 interrogation procedures.
“They waterboarded him 183 times,” says Driver’s Jones in the teaser, which ends with a foreboding if timely message: “Truth Matters.” In addition to Driver and Bening, the cast includes Jon Hamm, Sarah Goldberg, Michael C. Hall, Douglas Hodge, Fajer Kaisi, Ted Levine, Jennifer Morrison, Tim Blake Nelson, Linda Powell, Matthew Rhys, T. Ryder Smith, Corey Stoll, and Maura Tierney.
Producers are writer-director Burns, Steven Soderbergh, Jennifer Fox, Danny Gabai of Vice Studios, Eddy Moretti and Michael Sugar, andis executive produced by Nancy Dubuc, Shane Smith and Natalie Farrey of Vice Studios, Lila Yacoub, Michael DiVerdi, Vincent Landay and TJ Rinomato. The film was acquired by Amazon for $14M at this year’s Sundance festival, and just last month Amazon moved up the release date to better position the film for awards contention season.
